Cycle 450km to make cancer care in Bristol the best it can be

Due to this year’s circumstances, we’ve had to postpone our flagship Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge, so we’re asking you to take on an alternative challenge instead!

Usually the challenge raises more than £100,000 of vital funds for Bristol's city centre hospitals. In the past it has funded two 4D scanners for the fetal medicine unit at St Michael's Hospital and refurbishment of the children's neuro-rehabilitation ward at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

You can cycle 450km, the distance from Bristol to Paris, any way and any day. Pick an outdoor route, use a turbo trainer or an exercise bike, or take it on little and often – it’s your challenge!

You can set the days to take on the challenge – be it in four days, a month or over a longer period of time.

Do the challenge on your own, or get a whole team of friends, family or colleagues involved and see how much you can raise for Bristol Against Cancer.

Why your Cycle Against Cancer challenge matters

We’re asking you to cycle for those living with cancer, the compassionate and hardworking NHS staff working on Bristol's cancer wards and the loved ones we've lost to cancer. Every year the number of people diagnosed with cancer in Bristol increases by nine per cent. We believe every one of these patients deserves the best possible care.

How to get involved

1. Sign up to Cycle Against Cancer using our simple registration formIt's free, all we ask is that you aim to raise £150, or as much as you can. If you can raise £150 we’ll send you a limited edition Smidge rainbow water bottle (limited stock available).

2. Start your fundraising. Create your JustGiving page, set your fundraising target and share your page so that friends, family and colleagues can sponsor you. They could even join you in the challenge!

3. Share your story. Every story is special so why not share your story to your JustGiving page and social media channels. Let everyone know why you have chosen to support Bristol Against Cancer.

4. Track your kilometres. Keep track of your activity using a fitness app like Strava and watch your kilometres - and your fundraising total - add up. You can link Strava to your JustGiving page so your donors can see your updates, how many kilometres you're clocking up and where you're cycling.

Our fundraising team will be on hand to help you every step of the way, with tips on how to get started and how to boost your fundraising. If you have any questions you can also check out our FAQ area or contact the team on [email protected]
