How to access the COVID-19 Response Fund

Above & Beyond is making funds raised by the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal available to support you during the COVID-19 outbreak. The immediate focus is on supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of staff and patients, and COVID-19 related research projects.

All staff members at Bristol city centre hospitals (including South Bristol Community Hospital) are eligible to apply for funding for initiatives or items that will improve either staff or patient welfare.

Requests for Weston General Hospital should be made to the team overseeing the hospital's charitable funds.

What information is required?

To meet your needs at this exceptional time, we have streamlined the process for accessing funds and will make every effort to act quickly on your funding requests.

To complete the application, you will need to provide:

  1. your contact details
  2. short summary of your funding request
  3. description of items you wish to purchase
  4. estimated costs
  5. brief description of why your request is not covered by core NHS funding
  6. how patient and/or staff welfare items will improve hospital experience for your patients

We may need to contact you if we require further information, particularly for larger projects.

Requests submitted using the COVID-19 Response Fund Request form will be collated every other Thursday ready for consideration at the Cross Divisional Board Meeting on Tuesday of the following week. 

Providing we have all of the details we need and there are no outstanding queries, you will be notified of the decision by Wednesday of that week.
