Above & Beyond is a charitable trust committed to enhancing patient and staff amenities in Bristol hospitals by raising funds for their support. Since its establishment in 1974, the charity has raised over £50m generated through fund-raising events and donations. This has made a substantial difference to improving to the quality of facilities, has helped to support staff training and medical research, and will continue to fund projects that benefit patient care throughout University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. With your help, we can change lives for the better. Why not hold a sponsored event, set up a direct donation, or support us through your company or business with payroll giving? You can also find information about leaving a legacy or setting up a fund in the name of someone you love. If you would like to get involved in a more active role, you could take part in one of our events, organise your own event or become a volunteer. Leaving a legacy is also a highly tax efficient way of giving, as any charitable gifts left within a Will are not subject to Inheritance Tax.
Volunteering is a great way to meet people and make a difference to your local Bristol community. We often have volunteering opportunities in our Bristol offices, at events and for specific fundraising projects. If you are interested in volunteering at Above & Beyond please contact us.
Over the years Above & Beyond have organised, supported and enjoyed a variety of successful fundraising activities including the Premier Inn abseil, Bristol’s Half Marathon and the Hollyoaks celebrity football match. The charity hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year, and all funds raised are used entirely for the benefit of Bristol hospitals’ patients and staff.
The Heart of Bristol Appeal is helping enhance the new Bristol Heart Institute with funds generated through online donations, sponsored events and activities. The appeal will contribute £800,000 towards the latest medical equipment and technology, and to create a friendly and welcoming environment.
Above & Beyond welcome any contribution you are able to make towards improving Bristol’s healthcare facilities. Possible contributions range from making a donation online to leaving a legacy in your will; and if you wish you can choose to support a particular Department in which you are interested.
