South Bristol Community Hospital

The South Bristol Community Hospital finally opened its doors to the general public on March 20th 2012 and over 700 people took the opportunity to get a glimpse inside before it became operational. The new hospital will transform the way health care is provided in south Bristol by making services more responsive and accessible to the people who use them.

The NHS in Bristol chose Hengrove Park as the location for the community hospital because it is the centrepiece for regeneration in south Bristol. The hospital is a major focal point within the Hengrove Park development, which also includes a new skills academy and a new leisure centre.

Above & Beyond provided £50,000 of funding to help create caring and supportive surroundings for patients, visitors and staff at South Bristol Community Hospital.  This included a Therapeutic Garden, Children’s play area, a Multi-Faith Quiet Room and changing facilities for patients with disabilities.

You can help us to support more projects like South Bristol that will improve the hospital environment to offer patients privacy and dignity in care, and help to improve people’s sense of wellbeing while they are in hospital.
