Get involved Events Virtual London Marathon 2021 Raise vital funds for your local NHS charity with the Virtual London Marathon. Be one of the 50,000 people taking part in the 2021 Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon and complete the world’s greatest marathon on a course of your choice. You’ll take on the challenge on Sunday 3 October, covering the 26.2 miles and all participants who complete the challenge will receive the iconic T-shirt and finishers medal. There will be 50,000 runners taking on the traditional Virgin Money London Marathon from Blackheath to The Mall on the same date, and alongside the 50,000 virtual runners, this will be a Guinness World Record attempt! Apply for a charity place We have a limited number of charity places for the much sought-after Virtual London Marathon. The closing date for applications is 9 April. We will be notifying all successful applicants after this date. If successful, there will be a small registration fee of £10 to secure your place. Your own place in the ballot If you have been successful in getting your own space in the Virtual London Marathon do let us know - we would love to have you on our team! You will receive all the same support, but there are no sponsorship targets to reach. Any funds you raise will provide vital support to staff and patients at our hospitals. If you are offered a charity place the registration fee is non-refundable and £10 to secure your place. How much do I need to fundraise? You will be required to raise a minimum of £200 (exclusive of Gift Aid) if you are offered a charity place. If you have your own place, there is no fundraising target. What if I don’t hit my target? If you have your own place, there is no fundraising target. We will be on hand to support you every step of the way and have all the resources you need to host successful virtual or in-person events. In the unlikely event you are struggling to meet your target by the date of the event, you will need to make up the difference.
