Geographical Area: Bristol

Description : We are looking for several enthusiastic volunteers to provide our small fundraising team with support by spreading the word in their local community about the fantastic work of the charity and how members of the public can support their local hospitals by becoming involved. The role would consist of promoting the work of the charity by delivering our events diary and accompanying events posters promoting our fundraising events to businesses in their local area such as high street shops, leisure centres, cafes and restaurants etc. The role is flexible and would suit anyone who has a confident and outgoing personality and enjoys meeting people.

The support you give will contribute to making a lasting difference to patients and their families cared for at our hospitals.

When Required: The position is to start as soon as possible. We suggest starting in your own local community and then possibly branching within the city to cover other postcodes. A flexible role to fit around your own commitments.

Good route planning would be an advantage, so ideally a good knowledge of the local area would be of benefit but not essential). Happy to use your own initiative and to be working on your own whilst knowing you are part of a team. A full driving license with the use of own car would be an advantage (both to cover your area and to carry the leaflets, but not essential as this can also be done using public transport).

Minimum period of commitment: 6 months minimum commitment.

Collection Tin Volunteer

Geographical Area: Community based role in your local area of Bristol or the surrounding villages

Description :
Are you interested in supporting Bristol's Hospitals by volunteering for their official charity Above & Beyond? We are looking for people across Bristol who have some spare time on their hands and would be interested in managing collection tins in their local community. It’s like having your own little business that you can fit around your own personal commitments and free time. Initially you would identify suitable businesses to take a tin on their counter for donations from the public (this could be local shops, pubs, petrol stations and leisure centres). Every couple of months you would pop out, exchange their tin, count & bank the money and notify us of how much was raised and where. We would then send the business a thank you letter/receipt for the donations received. Ideally over time you would build up your sites so that you have a steady flow of donations coming in, and a regular awareness of the charity with the visual tins out in the community.

You will be handling the public's money, so references would be taken at the time of registration, then you will receive full training from the fundraising team to get you started, and continued support and help along the way.

The support you give will contribute to making a lasting difference to patients and their families cared for at our hospitals.
