Legacy: leaving a gift to future generations
One vital source of funding comes in the form of charitable legacies and bequests.
Many kind people have made provision in their Will to support our work after their
death by leaving the Charity a specific sum, property or the residue from their Estate.
Their memory lives on in the Charity Trustees work and their generosity benefits the
lives of future generations.
Setting up a legacy
You too can make an invaluable contribution to our work in the future by leaving a
legacy in your Will. To do this is very simple. But it is advisable to seek professional
advice from a solicitor to ensure that your wishes are clearly and formally communicated
in your Will.
A solicitor can also advise you of the number of options available. In a Will, you
can instruct that a cash gift, an asset of value such as property or land, or a proportion
of the residue of your Estate is left to Above & Beyond Charities. If you have already made a Will, you can simply add a codicil to include
the Charity as a beneficiary.
Importantly, any gift you do make to our fund is free of tax and can reduce the tax
liability of your Estate. And every penny you pledge will be used to benefit the future
medical facilities and patient support services in the United Bristol Hospitals -
that is our promise to you.
