donations & legacies: every penny counts

Even the smallest donation is important to our General Purpose Fund which is used to improve general hospital facilities. If you wish you can choose to support a particular service or department. Whatever your preference, the choice of where your gift goes is entirely up to you. We will always allocate your kind donation according to your wishes.

You can choose any of four ways in which to donate. More details on each method is given further down this page. You can donate:

• by cash or cheque at the Cashiers office
• via the Gift Aid scheme using our printable form
• using a legacy in your Will
• safely and securely online using a credit or debit card

cash or cheque - giving direct

If you are a patient or visiting one of the Hospitals, you can make a cash donation by contacting the Ward Sister or Department Manager. Alternatively, you can call at the Cashiers office and pledge your gift. Just remember to tell the member of staff if you wish to support our General Purpose Fund or a particular department. You will receive a receipt to acknowledge your kindness. This also acts as a Gift Aid Form (see below).

Gift Aid - making even more of your donation

If you want to make an immediate donation and are a taxpayer, you can donate via the Inland Revenue Gift Aid scheme. This worthwhile scheme allows us to increase your donation by claiming a refund of the tax you have already paid on your income. For every £1 donated we are paid an extra 28p, at no extra cost to yourself. All you need to do is complete the Gift Aid section on the printable form, enclose your cheque and send it to us. Or contact us on the telephone number above and we will send you a donation form.

Legacy - your gift to future generations

You can make an invaluable contribution to our work in the future by leaving a legacy in your Will. A legacy can take the form of a specific sum, property or the residue from your Estate. This is such a precious gift to future generations and is so easy for a solicitor to arrange. Any gift you do make to our funds is free of tax and can reduce the tax liability of your Estate.
