Above and Beyond Charities - The Charitable Trust for the United Bristol Hospitals
News Details![]() Hospital Gardens Transformed Bristol ![]() RBS Develop Green Fingers to Transform Hospital Gardens 22 fantastic volunteers from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) took on the challenge of transforming two garden areas at St Micheal's Hospital in one day. Both the external garden space Ward 78 looks onto and the garden for the Gynaecology Outpatients Department were cleared, freshened up and given new plants in a busy day for the volunteers. RBS also provided a budget for plants and Cornish Garden Services kindly donated bulbs and compost. RBS Relationship Manager Vicky Cox said: “It was a wonderful day. I am so pleased we could make such a big difference to the gardens for the patients and nurses to enjoy all year round.” Gynaecology Outpatients Sister Susan Coghlan said: “This project will impact hugely on patients and their relatives coming to our area. Having somewhere to walk about and get some fresh air when times are difficult is such a rarity these days when space is such a premium, and we are now proud to tell patients and visitors to spend time in our gardens.” If you are a local company looking to volunteer at Bristol's Hospitals please contact Lorna Clarke on 0117 3700 842 or email: lorna.clarke@aboveandbeyond.org.uk Thank you to Sarah Cameron for her wonderful photos of the day
