Staff and patients move into the new Heart Institute

On May 12 and 19 the new Bristol Heart Institute received its first patients
As staff and patients move into the new Bristol Heart Institute, we are celebrating the success of Above and Beyond’s Heart of Bristol Appeal. The Appeal is raising £800,000 to add value to the £61million NHS funded project and has provided many of the finishing touches which make the new facility feel so special. Whether it is the artwork which provides a calming influence or the accommodation for over night visitors in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the projects supported will make a significant difference to patients and their families. As well as enhancing the environment the Charity has also helped to fund state of the art monitoring equipment and Audio Visual technology to help link the Institute with other centres around the world.
So far over £775,000 has been raised but we need help to reach our target of £800,000. By taking part in our sponsored 5km Birthday Walk on Sunday 19 July at Ashton Court or running in the Bristol Half Marathon this September you could help us go that extra mile for patients and staff at the BHI.
