Welcome to our first e-Newsletter of 2010. We would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all those who supported, organised, participated and helped us in 2009. So what about 2010? Do you fancy doing something amazing and make a difference to cancer patients in Bristol and the South West? Whether it's running the Bristol 10k, joining our exclusive cycle from Bristol to Lands End, or signing up for the BHOC Challenge event, we have something for everyone.
Alternatively, you can organise your own fundraising activity for any ward, department or hospital you feel needs a helping hand. Just let us know and we can support you and help make it happen. |

The Bristol Heart Institute is a great example of what a difference the arts can make to an environment, so it's great to hear that artists for the Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre, Arts Programme have now been appointed and are busy finalising their work. A 'sense of place' theme will bring together artwork inspired by the location of BHOC and its surrounding area. Now that work is well underway the fundraising team are busy ensuring we are on track to achieve our CaRE Appeal target of £1.6 million, but we need your help to raise the final £500,000.

Jason Edgar is a man with many hats. When he isn't fulfilling his role as a Governor for the Foundation Trust, or being an active fundraiser and ambassador for Above & Beyond, he works at local Bristol company, Simply Health. Jason was inspired to give something back after his treatment for Testicular Cancer and has been central to Simply Health making an amazing donation of £5000 to the CaRE Appeal.
